A women who livied in China from 1997 to 2003says ” and having returned last year for a visit, it all seems sadly plausible to me. In a week last year in Beijing we never saw either sun or blue sky. My son had pneumonia four times in China; he has never had lung problems before or after.”
This article is interesting to me because of all the problem about China’s environment can cause a rare sickness.

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/03/31/technology/companies/31music.html?_r=1&ref=technology
The article that I read was about Google saying on monday that they began to offer China free links to music downloads, a service that does not offer anywhere else. Google executives that they were responding to a lot of popularity from China on the links to the music downloads. China was acting legally by forming an alliance with music industries such as Sony BMG Music Entertainment, Universal Music Group, Warner Bros Music Group, and one more.
This article is interesting because Google offered One WHOLE country free downloadable music to gain more popularity and it worked.
This article affects my country by showing us the kind of opportunities that might fall upon us and to be aware of these things.

My article was about Google saying that Youtube, a video sharing website is blocked in China because of a video put up by the Tibetan Government of The Chinese Police officers beating up Tibetans. Though google did not know why it was blocked the official said that the description matched the video and the video name was not identified.
This article is interesting to me because it speaks about one video of violence having a whole website blocked from a whole country.
This article is important to me because it talks about how violence effects the world and i dont think violence is a good thing and it was wrong of the Tibetan Government to post that video on Youtube

The article that i read was about Chinese companies established rose .78% in 2008, considering that in the last five years it has rose 5% each year. The statistics showed that more companies had been established in the western and central areas as the country tried to convert more industries to the regions, while the number of companies fell in more-developed eastern region due to the financial crisis.
This article was interesting to me because it talks about all the problem and affects that can happen from not enough companies being created and companies being created in one spot rather than the other.
This article affects my community by showing us what consequences are to the number of companies that are established during a year

Channelnewsasia.com <——- Article i read
The article I read was about Hong Kong doctors who tried to calm public fears over a flu outbreak which has left four children dead and led the city to close all primary schools and kindergartens. Just hours after a flu-like illness was reported in nearly two-dozen schools. ”It was quite a difficult decision but we realise the number of infections is increasing,” Health Secretary York Chow told a news conference on Thursday morning, when the closures took effect. All primary schools, kindergartens and nurseries in Hong Kong were shut down. But the announcement came too late for many parents, who showed up at closed schools on Thursday morning with their children. A pneumonia-like virus that killed almost 300 people in Hong Kong five years ago and set off constant health concerns. A seven year old boy died after suffering respiratory problems tested positive for a flu strain known as Influenza A or H1N1 – a virus which was also found in a 21-month-old baby who died recently.
This article is interesting because it shows me all the possibilities that can happen by just one flu thats REALLY scary!!! I am very grateful.
This article affects my community by showing us all the possibilities that can happen and how to react or what to do.

10836449.htm <——– article i read
The article I read was about China’s earthquakes totalling up to 99 high magnitude earthquakes in all of 2008. All of these earthquakes have a magnitude of 5 or higher. Some people statedthat most of the earthquakes occurred in very populated areas, which that of 6 or higher were more than the total number of quakes in the past five years. it was sad though because they didnt know wat to do so they crashed. it was very sad. the magnitude was really high so if i were they i would probaly died.
This article is interesting because there have been so many earthquakes in China that i did not know about. It is also great to know about everything that is happening in the world especially something this big (in my opinion)

YellowBridge <———————– Article that I read
The article I read was about Li Peiying, age 59, the former board chairman and general manager of Capital Airports Holding Company (CAH) was given the penalty by the Jinan Intermediate People’s Court. Li is guilty of accepting or seeking bribes adding up to 26.61 yuan(the basic money unit of China) while he was working in 1995 to 2003. He also misused 82.5 million yuan for personal use in 2000 to 2003. The court said the amounts involved were unusual and Li’s crimes had given great money loss to the country. They took away all of Li’s property and took away all of his political rights.
This article was interesting because it taught me all the consequences to bribery. I knew that it was wrong and that you would go to jail but i didn’t know that you could get a death sentence. What people do and what the consequences are, are very scary. I think it was wrong for Li to bribe people under any circumstance and to bribe you have to put people under peer pressure which is also wrong, what if the people he bribed needed that money but he used it. That is very bad but even if he was that horrible i don’t think he should have been sentenced to death. But i think people should only have a death penalty if they are hurting or abusing people.
This article affects my community because it shows us what type of crimes can happen and what the circumstances are, and how we can relate to them by doing little things, for example putting people under peer pressure even for little things are wrong. No matter what, people should not be put under peer pressure.

This article was interesting because it talks about what is needed in order to save important buildings from danger.

My article is about millions of locusts swarmed into northern Egypt on Wednesday for the first time in 50 years. Making Emergency crews get sprays to spray them and exterminate. Mant of the red insects who are up to two inches long flew over Cairo.
This article was interesting because it speaks about how people react to swarms of bugs. If it were me I would be screaming and running around (most people who know me would expect this reaction too :p )
This article effects my community by showing us how to react if there is a danger because of dangerous bugs.

Australian archaeologists found a secret door in one pyramid that had a bead covered mummy. The archaeologists were on a different mission to explore King Pepe II’s tomb. In his room were two statues. Behind one statue was a secret door leading to this marvelous bead covered mummy. The person who wrapped this mummy is not known. But he is thought to be a middle class person.
This article is interesting because it is speaking about a beaded mummy, that is rare because most mummy’s are wrapped in a thick cloth-like bandages.
This article affects my society by showing us the big differences between life in our land before and life in Egypt before.

While the Egyptian media takes care of water shortages in Al-Daqahliya and Kafr Al-Sheikh in the northern Nile Delta region, southern rural areas are forgotten,” says Mustafa Mohsen Mohamed Taha, mayor of Al-Qodaby, a small village in the Upper Egypt governorate of Beni-Sweif. In recent years things have gone from bad to worse in Al-Qodaby, say the farmers. The total cost of cultivating one feddan even without factoring in the costs of extra labour and land rental now equals to LE4,500.
this affects my community by showing all of us how much it is to keep our water going and clean. maybe now we might not waste so much water.
this is interesting because it shows how much effort it is to keep a city or state clean.

Egypt has been growing in population so the sewage system is leaking causing the upper part of the water level aka water table to rise. Hawass said that ”The water table brings salt, and this salt damages the limestone—it turns the limestone to a powder.” Hawass has offered to build a new sewage system just for this area. The Nile Plateau was originally a seabed the sands and soil are naturally salty. Before the dam was built in the 1960s the regular Nile floods would wash the salt into the Mediterranean. Now it prevents flooding, allowing natural and fertilizer salts to accumulate.
This article was interesting because it speaks about how it’s water table is rising and why it is rising. its nice to know whats going on in the world.
This article affects my community because it gives a us a warning so maybe we’ll make sure our sewage system doesn’t leak.
